Honey Spice Cranberry Sauce

Honey Spice Cranberry Sauce

Why use canned cranberry sauce (which is loaded with refined sugar), when you can make your own, sweetened with honey and is so easy to do? This sauce creates a perfect marriage of fresh cranberries, warm fall spices, zest of citrus, and Stakich honey to please all of your dinner guests.

There’s a lot to get done when it comes to prepping for a big dinner, so dishes that can be made ahead of time are extremely helpful. Between prep and cook time this cranberry sauce is ready in 20 minutes, and can be made up to three days in advance.

Ingredients

12 oz Cranberries

1 c. Fresh Orange Juice

1/2 c. Stakich Raw Honey

2 Tbsp. Orange Zest

1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger

1/4 tsp. Ground Cloves

Dash of Black Pepper

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, combine the orange juice and honey and cook until the honey has dissolved.
  2. Add in the orange zest and spices and stir for 30 seconds.
  3. Then add in the cranberries and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until most of the berries have popped and the sauce has thickened up. This should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Your house should smell divine by now!
  4. Remove from heat, cool, and refrigerate until you're ready to use.
  5. Serve at room temperature.
