Spirulina Basil Pesto

Supercharge your pesto by adding it to your favorite pesto recipe or following the simple one below. 

Ingredients

  • 1 c toasted pine nuts 
  • 1/2 c nutritional yeast 
  • 3 handfuls fresh basil 
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped 
  • Sea salt & black pepper 
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil 
  • 2 tsp Stakich Spirulina powder 
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Directions

Pulse garlic & basil in food processor. Add pine nuts and olive oil and pulse again. Stir in lemon juice, nutritional yeast and Spirulina powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Makes a delicious pasta sauce, spread on sandwiches or use as a dip for your favorite crackers & cheese.
